We face one of the most amazing and diverse countries in all of Africa, with large cities and with incredible natural spaces to discover. It is a country that has a lot to see and it is also economical to move through it. It is a safe country and has many places that will make us fall in love from the first moment, so we can make a list of all the essentials that we can see in South Africa.

In South Africa we find good weather throughout the year, although autumn or spring is always better. We will talk about some of the most important points to see in the country and what we must not get lost on our trip to South Africa.

Kruger national park

This National park is the largest wildlife reserve in the country and one of the essentials in South Africa. In this great national park we can see incredible animals such as leopard, rhinoceros, lion or elephant. The vast majority of people who go to South Africa are on safari in this national park. It is possible to go on a safari in our own car and several days can be spent visiting the different points of the park. This park is managed by Sanpark and they have established several fully equipped campsites, especially in the southern area. It is also possible to take some guided tours.

This mountain is a classic in Cape Town, a mountain with a flat top that can be seen from different points. You can climb Table Mountain on foot or by funicular to enjoy the experience. The cable car is taken from the Tafelberg road and from the top there are views of Cape Town, Robben Island or Table Bay. It is possible to go hiking, climbing and also see some caves.

This city is full of interesting places to see, such as the aforementioned Table Mountain. In the center we can see the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, one of the most striking and multicultural, full of houses painted in striking colors. The historic port area is a place where you can find restaurants with terraces. Another of its best places to entertain itself is Long Street, a street lined with various restaurants and venues, many of which sell African art. Along the Table Mountain you can see the immense Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, in which there are up to nine thousand species of plants.

This park is the third largest in South Africa and is located on the east coast, near Durban. It has different conversation areas such as the False Bay Park, Cape Vidal State Rainforest, St. Lucia Park or the Coastal Jungle Reserve. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site and in the park we can see animals such as loggerhead turtles, whales or dolphins.

South Africa is also a place to enjoy incredible beaches like Boulders Beach, which is located in Cape Town. It is a beach that is inside the Table Mountain National Park and where you can see penguins. It is not your typical beach for sunbathing as this penguin colony was established on the beach during the eighties. Today there are some walkways to get to the area where it is located and to see them in their natural area.

Garden Route

As well known as the Garden Route It is a well-known coast-to-coast route through southern South Africa. The route is made by National Highway 2 and begins in Cape Town and ends in Port Elizabeth. On the route you can see places such as the towns of Swellendam or Stellenbosch, with coastal towns that can be visited, such as Hermanus or Mossel Bay.
