What are warts? Remedies to eliminate them

What are warts

The skin undergoes many transformations throughout life and among the most cutaneous conditions are pimples and warts. Warts generally appear in areas that are most exposed to the sun and external agents, such as the face, neck, neckline or hands. This lump of skin occurs as a result of a human papillomavirus skin infection.

This virus manifests itself on the skin in the form of raised skin formations, forming a kind of skin mass that sticks out. Although in most cases warts are non-malignant conditions, they are still annoying and unsightly as they also appear in highly visible areas. The good news is that in many cases they disappear on their own and when they don't, they exist very effective home remedies to eliminate them.

Why do warts appear?

The cause of warts is the human papillomavirus, a disease that has more than 100 variants and can be spread in several different ways. One of the main causes of the appearance of warts, is direct contact with infected surfaces. These are generally places such as locker rooms in swimming pools or gyms, floors and other similar surfaces.

The human papillomavirus is also spread by contact with people who have the virus, by shaking hands, touching or brushing the skin. What is ruled out is contagion through blood. Once contagion occurs, the incubation period can range from a month to more than a year. Which means that symptoms can take a long time to appear.

Home remedies to remove warts

Remedies for warts

Most warts are harmless and benign, but they can cause discomfort because they appear in highly visible areas. If you want to remove them quickly, you can go to the dermatologist's office to assess them and with a quick and practically painless technique, they will be removed. But you can also do it at home with natural and equally effective home remedies.

  • Apple vinager: You only have to apply a drop of vinegar apple directly on the wart. Repeat once a day until the wart is completely gone.
  • Garlic: For this treatment we will specifically use the germ of garlic. Cut in half and remove the germ, the green part of the inside of the garlic clove. Rub for about two minutes with the garlic germ on the wart and repeat every day until you get rid of it.
  • Aspirin: Acetylsalicylic acid from aspirin is a perfect substance to treat warts effectively in a few days. You just have to cut an aspirin into quarters, each day you will use a quarter. Crush carefully in a small bowl, mix with a little petroleum jelly and apply directly on the wart. Apply a plaster and let it work throughout the day. Repeat the process every day for 9 days, the wart will disappear without a trace.
  • With lemon and salt: Cut a lemon wedge and roast it skin side down in a saucepan. When the lemon peel is hot, mix with a little salt. Wait for it to temper a little so as not to burn your skin and place the lemon peel along with the salt on the wart. Cover with a dressing or plaster and leave to act throughout the day. Go through the same process every day for at least 10 days and the wart will disappear.

When to go to the dermatologist

Skin conditions

Warts are in most cases harmless, but a skin problem or disorder should never be underestimated. To make sure your warts are benign, you should go to your doctor's office to have them checked glance. If he considers it necessary, he will refer you to the dermatologist's office to analyze the warts and their condition. Good medical follow-up is essential to prevent harmless problems from leading to major disorders.
