The fall-winter 2015-2016, entitled 'Mirabilia Romae'(The Wonders of Rome) is a tribute to the Italian capital and its culture, with some details inspired by the homeland of Valentino Garavani, the founder of the brand. The models, with golden laurel wreaths and flat sandals, became Roman goddesses with spectacular creations in which the colors gold, the classic black and the emblematic red, the house's fetish color predominated.
Tunic-shaped designs, togas, rich brocades, elaborate lace motifs, rich materials, transparencies, chiffons, capes, gladiator-type sandals, asymmetrical sleeves, gold or velvet necklaces are the keys to a collection inspired by the Ancient Rome. This style of the Roman Empire suits Valentino perfectly, a specialist firm in romantic designs with a classic touch.
The color palette chosen by Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo Piccioli Chiuri for this proposal is a reflection of this Roman style, marked by the black, Red Valentino, the Verde dark and above all, the golden, star tone of the collection.
