To verify the facts, they tested the leading nail UV lamps to determine the amount of radiation UV-A and UV-B they emit, and compared it to natural sunlight. High sensitivity UV detectors were placed in the client's hands, while they normally reside inside a UV nail lamp. These detectors measure the amount of UV-A and UV-B light emitted from each lamp. To ensure a proper comparison, Lighting Science also used equipment from the same test to measure UV-A and UV-B light found in natural sunlight.
