Keep the oven clean It is not an option. The remains of food and the fat that accumulate in it, when charred, can contaminate your food. It is therefore a matter of health to make sure we keep the oven clean. How? Preventing dirt and acting on it with simple cleaning formulas.
The big brands of household appliances have implemented functions such as pyrolysis or aqualysis in the ovens in order to facilitate their cleaning. However, not all ovens have such systems. It is then that the homemade "formulas" that take advantage of vinegar benefits or bicarbonate become our best ally.
Prevention is better than cure
If we don't let dirt accumulate, cleaning the oven will no longer be a cumbersome task. Using dishes or trays that prevent fat from spilling into the oven is one way to prevent dirt. If even so the walls and / or the base of the oven have been stained, we will try to clean the stains before they dry out. How? With salt water (200 g. Of salt for 1/2 liter of water). Heat the mixture, apply it on the stains and let it sit for 15 minutes before removing it with a damp cloth. Salt helps loosen fat and prevents it from sticking to metal.
Thorough oven cleaning
We will start by withdrawing oven trays and racks. To help us loosen the dirt, we will soak them with hot water and a few drops of dishwasher in the sink or a large bowl. Let the degreasing product act for a few hours before rinsing it off. We can also use the dishwasher to clean them; choosing for this a program with high temperature.
To clean the inside of the oven, we will use a combination of water and baking soda of sodium. We will place 1/2 cup of bicarbonate in a bowl and pour water until we achieve a manageable paste. Always using gloves, we will spread it over the base and the walls of the oven and let it act for a few hours or overnight. The same paste of baking soda and water is ideal for cleaning the door; where it will be enough to act for half an hour before removing it.
After time, we will remove as much dirt as possible with a damp cloth. We will finish the cleaning, sprinkling with vinegar inside and wiping again with a damp cloth. After cleaning and in order to dry the interior, we can turn it on at low temperature for 15 minutes.
