Yesterday great music stars they would gather at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, to enjoy the MTV Video Music Awards gala. A gala that featured live performances by Bad Bunny, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Lizzo, Los Jonas Brothers, Rosalia, Shwan Mendes and Taylor Swift.

As big favorites were Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande with 10 nominations each. The duel ended, however, without a resounding winner and both ended the night with three awards to their credit. One more than Rosalia who won two awards for his song 'Con Altura'.

There were many stars that met yesterday in New Jersey to celebrate "the best" of music from the past year.  A celebration that had a great latin presence with Daddy Yankee, Maluma, Bad Bunny, Karol G, J Balvin and Rosalía as standard bearers and that Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X and Halsey, arrived as the most nominated.

Rosalia won yesterday, along with J Balvin, the MTV Video Music Awards at 'Best Latin Video' and for 'Best Choreography' for 'Con Altura', thus becoming the first Spanish artist to win this award. He was missing, however, another award he aspired to, that of 'Best New Artist', which was finally won by 17-year-old Billie Eilish.

During the gala Rosalia also took the stage to interpret, as planned, 'Me x You, You x Me' with the singer Ozuna. Although he went further, starting his performance with a bit of 'A no hombre' and ending with some chords of "Aute Cuture"

Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande's duel is resolved

The MTV Video Music Awards had as big favorites with 10 nominations Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Taylor Swift's anthem 'You Need to Calm Down' and Ariana Grande's hit 'Thank U, Next' will meet for top prize with Billie Eilish's 'Bad Guy', Lil Nas X and Billy's 'Old Town Road' Ray Cyrus, 'A Lot' by 21 Savage and J. Cole and 'Sucker' by the Jonas Brothers. The winner of the 'Video of the year' it was finally for Taylor Swift who had already presented some of her greatest hits live at the beginning of the gala.

Taylor Swift also won two other awards such as Video with a positive message for the production of "You Need to Calm Down." Ariana Grande, meanwhile, won in the categories of 'Artist of the year', 'Best art direction' for '7 Rings', and 'Best direction' for 'thank you, next'

In the gala presented by the actor and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, the winners were also Jonas Brothers thanks to 'Sucker', Cardi B for 'Money' or Normani ft. 6lack for 'Waves'. In addition, this year's event featured two new categories: "Best K-Pop" and "Video with a positive message." Know all the winners:

  • Best Rock Video: Panic! At The Disco - “High Hopes”.
  • Video for good: Taylor Swift - "You Need to Calm Down"
  • Best Video Editing: Billie Eilish - "Bad Guy"
  • Best Art Direction: Ariana Grande - “7 Rings”

The night of the MTV was long and gave some surprise as was the heartbreaking performance of Miley Cyrus 'Slide' in the final part of the gala. The presence of the singer, who is not having a good personal time, was announced at the last minute.
