Music awards always bring us looks to remember, because it is an industry in which a lot is risked to put on a show. The October 9, the 2018 American Music Awards were held in its 46th edition. A music awards in which we were able to enjoy many celebrities and performances, in addition to the awards ceremony.
La Big winner of the night was Taylor Swift, which already racks up more awards than any other singer in award history, beating Withney Houston, who racked up 21 throughout his career. But there were other winners, like Camila Cabello, who also wore their best red carpet looks.
Original dresses
In all editions of the music awards you can see very original dresses, usually with daring cuts and fun prints. In this case we could see some interesting dresses, with floral or worn prints. We like Cobie Smulders' short and simple dress, in a sky blue with a red print. It is a simple but effective idea. On the other hand, we find semi-long dresses with layers and a lot of volume, to show off legs with a long dress. Plunging, sweetheart necklines are very flattering and never go wrong on the red carpet.
Long dresses
If there is a dress that has become essential on the red carpet, it is the side slit long dress to show the leg with an Angelina Jolie effect. There were several who decided to wear this type of suit to the event, from a fireproof Jennifer López to Amber Heard or Bebe Rexha, each one focused on their own style. JLo chose a striking pink shade with black accessories. Bebe Rexha opted for a dress of glitter and sequins with very marked shoulders. Amber was the most elegant, with a wide neckline and feather detail on the shoulder.
Short dresses
The short dresses they are also increasingly seen on red carpets. Nowadays there is no protocol that is worth, and less for a music premise. The big winner, Taylor Swift, delighted us in a futuristic silver-tone suit with matching tall boots. Ciara wore a casual and sporty inspired ensemble, while Tyra Banks opted for a bright pink skirt with a white shirt.
Fancy dresses
On this carpet some stood out for their elegance and discretion, with dresses that would be worth even for the Oscars. Rita Ora surprised us with a discreet black dress with embroidered black flowers and a sober bow. Leighton Meester wore an original two-tone dress and Dua Lipa, who always dresses sporty, offered us a beautiful white dress with a mermaid tail.
Fitted dresses
Beyond the dresses with highly studied shapes and volumes, there are the more fitted dresses, which are used to highlight the female silhouette to the maximum. In this case we find a Mariah Carey with a dress with semi-transparent glitter and feathers, very much in her style. We really like Vanessa Hudgens' simple dress, inspired by 90s minimalism, in a pale pink color. Heidi Klum was also in black, with a bohemian dress with fringes and transparencies.
Jacket suits
In almost all events there are more and more women who they opt for the masculine style. It is very comfortable and also elegant. In these awards there were several who decided to interpret the costume in their own way, such as Camilla Cabello, who wore it with a beautiful black corset. Busy Phillipps opted for flared flared pants and a jacket with a bra underneath. Tracee Ellis Ross chose a striking pink suit.
