The winners

The film, inspired by the novel that Javier Cercas published in 2011, obtained five awards out of the six for which it was eligible: best costume design (Vinyet Escobar); makeup and hairdressing (Sarai Rodríguez, Benjamín Pérez and Nacho Díaz); artistic direction (Balter Gallart); revelation actor for Chechu Salgado; and the one for best adapted screenplay, which Monzón himself picked up, along with Jorge Guerricaechevarría.
The award for best leading actress went to Blanca Portillo by the Maixabel of the title of the film by Icíar Bollain. Two other actors were awarded for their work in this film: Urko Olazabal as best supporting actor and María Cerezuela as best revelation actress.
Mediterráneo achieved three statuettes and Parallel Mothers, by Pedro Almodóvar, left empty. Although we were able to see both Penelope Cruz and Pedro Almodóvar on stage to present the first International Goya Award
