The end of August will mark for many the end of the holidays. Others, although we have enjoyed the holidays for a long time, we will not return to that total routine typical of autumn until then. A routine in which we will return to enjoy the series that streaming platforms as HBO have to offer us.
Before the end of the year we will be able to see on HBO: Marriage Secrets and Everything Else. Two series that will share the limelight with the premiere of the new seasons of Succesions, among others. Find out what's behind those new titles and seasons with us.
Secrets of a marriage
On September 12, Secrets of Marriage will premiere in the US, a series that we will be able to see a day later in Spain. The series starring Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain It has been directed by Hagai Levi, responsible for some of the most acclaimed fictions of recent years, such as The Affair or In therapy, one of the most acclaimed productions of HBO.
The series is a remake, an rmodern evision of Ingmar Bergmanen classic which in 1973 landed on Swedish television. Secrets of a marriage was then a groundbreaking miniseries in which the reality of a couple who faced their own demons was addressed.
Now, almost four decades later, HBO prepares the premiere by casting a new vision on love, hate, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the eyes of a contemporary american couple.
Succesions (3rd season)
The Roy family will be back to their old ways in a new season that will premiere on HBO this fall. A third season that will solve the shocking finale to the last season, where the trenches of a battle that promises to be painful for the Waystar Royco are established.
Succession that premiered on June 3, 2018 on HBO counts the tribulations of «the Roy family - Logan Roy and his four sons - who controls one of the largest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world. The series traces their lives as they contemplate what the future will hold once the patriarch of the family leaves the company. Created by Jesse Armstrong, with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay serving as executive producers, it has made it into season three in very good health.
Everything else
Abril Zamora writes, directs and stars in Todo lo otro, a new one that HBO will premiere before the end of the year and in which it is told, without filters and without trials, the story of a group of thirty-somethings trapped in lives that were not the ones they dreamed of as they try to move forward and find their place in Madrid.
Eight chapters complete this production of Campanilla Films SL starring the same Abril Zamora, Juan Blanco, Nuria Herrero, Andrea Guasch, Marta Belenguer, Raúl Mérida, Miguel Bernardeau and Alberto Casado, among others. April plays Dafne, the protagonist of the series. A woman with a garbage job, who has just been dumped by her boyfriend and who to top it all off is going to discover that she is terribly in love with her best friend, an unmotivated Asturian played by Juan Blanco.
«Both HBO Europe and Mandarina have believed in the story from minute one and instead of cutting my wings they have given me absolute freedom to tell it without artistic or creative limitations, enhancing my voice and my authorship and that, when you are writing something so personal, it is a luxury and a joy. It has been a beautiful and cathartic process and although it is a bit dizzy, I feel very sheltered by a handful of wonderful professionals, who are also my friends. I can't ask for more », explains the artist.
