Realistic exercises for busy moms

You can admit it, it's not easy to have the time it takes each day to be able to exercise. A healthy diet is a good start, but it is not enough. You need to move more, and we don't mean running off to take your children to school, then going to work, then shopping… None of that, we mean exercising.

All mothers juggle work, kids, friends, family, and housework on a daily basis, and somewhere in between all those demands, we need to take care of ourselves too! It seems impossible…

But your own well-being cannot be placed in the background. You can't have the family “spare” time or you'll end up never having a minute to yourself. Perhaps what you do not realize is that by checking your well-being in the last box of the to-do list, you will only be approaching a physical and mental exhaustion that will end up taking its toll. It is in your hands to change this and start exercising, in addition to maintaining a diet that is good for your health.

Realistic exercise tips if you are a busy mom

  • Exercise early in the morning. Do not wait until the afternoon to exercise because you will be tired, a lot to do and your children will need to go to the park, then a bath and later dinner. If you can, try to get up an hour earlier in the morning and exercise. So when you start your day, you will have your exercise done!
  • Have a home gym. Gym fees can be expensive, and if you come and go you also lose precious time that your children need by your side. It's easy (and more convenient) to create your own home gym, and you don't have to pay a monthly fee! All you need to get started is: a mat, some dumbbells, and maybe a jump rope. As you get in shape, you can build your team depending on your interests.
  • Involve the children in exercise. You can get your children to do the exercise routine with you and thus you can earn double sets of points: exercise and your children are with you. You will be surprised how much you can laugh next to your children, and you will all be advocating a healthy life!
  • Exercise throughout the day. If you just don't have enough hours to dedicate an entire hour to exercising, why not spread your exercises throughout the day? Run while you catch up on emails, do squats while you cook dinner, and do some sit-ups while the kids splash in the bathroom!
  • Find motivation by downloading a fitness app. Thanks to new technologies, there are many applications for your mobile that can help you stay motivated in exercise and can also help you train every day with exercise guides. It's like having a virtual coach on your mobile.

Do you already know how you are going to do your exercise despite your limited time?
