The good news is that you can prevent it from smelling bad with simple actions that will not only help you deal with bad odors but also with other discomforts derived from the accumulation of dirt. Why is there a bad smell?
Why does the sink smell bad? The main reason for a bad smell coming out of the drain is the accumulation of food debris in the drain. It is not the smell, however, that is the only problem that causes the accumulation of remains. It is usually accompanied by a slower drain and bubbling. Have you perceived them?

- You never flush down the sink oil or coffee grounds. Doing so favors pipes getting clogged, as well as major environmental problems due to its high polluting power. And coffee? The dregs, as a solid material that they are, can stick to the walls of the downspouts and accumulate in the elbows. In short, getting stuck in the pipes and worsening a previous blockage.
How do I remove it?

Use baking soda and vinegar
We are not going to use any commercial product to clean the sink, but a combination of ingredients that we are sure you have at home: baking soda and vinegar. With them you can create a bubbly mix to clean the pipe and eliminate odors if the dirt is not too accumulated. You have to proceed like this:
- sprinkle three tablespoons baking soda over the sink and leave to act for about 5 minutes.
- Scrub the sink with the help of a brush and then pour in 1/3 cup of white vinegar.
- let it act about 15 minutes. It will be when you see that bubbling we were talking about.
- Then remove the remains of baking soda and vinegar by pouring boiling water down the drain.
Unclog and clean the siphon
Baking soda and vinegar not working the way you wanted? Do you still have odors in the kitchen? Then you will have no choice but get your hands dirty. Use the plunger first and if it doesn't work carefully open the siphon and clean it.
- Use the plunger. To do this, fill the sink with a little water, place the plunger over the drain and start pumping for a few minutes. The dirt that caused the clog will begin to rise into the sink and you can pick it up to get rid of it.
- Hasn't it worked? open the siphon carefully placing a bucket under it and when the water comes out, clean all the remains that cause the clog. It is not the most pleasant thing you are going to do during the day, but there is no other option.
