MBFWM: spring-summer 2016 shows

c1

We just fired the 62nd edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, an appointment with Spanish fashion that leaves us with a good handful of trends to take into account for the next season Spring Adventure 2016. Many have been the protagonists of the Madrid catwalk, but without a doubt, we must stand out above all the firm Alvarno, winner for the third consecutive year of the L'Oréal Award for Best Collection.

Signing Arnaud Maillard and Álvaro Castejón continues to make a difference at MBFWM. Their careful staging, always innovative and surprising, as well as the variety of their patterns, have earned them the applause of the public and critics. In their new collection, 'Past, present and future' the designers presented the purest 'Star Wars' style, a combination of futuristic garments with oriental inspiration. Asymmetries, pleats, overlays, prints on technical fabrics, geometric shapes, crystal transfers, LED lights, smartwatches as a star accessory ... Alvarno continues to set the bar very high.

The designer Agatha Ruíz de la Prada, one of the veterans of Fashion Week Madrid, has once again uploaded her colorful designs and iconic prints to the Madrid catwalk. Few firms are so true to themselves, a clearly recognizable style in which the comfort of the garments, the mixture of patterns and the combination of colors are once again the protagonists. Linen, rustic silk, cotton and poplin are the materials chosen by the dressmaker, who reverts to striped motifs, stars and the essential hearts.

Another veteran of the Madrid catwalk like the couturier Roberto Verino, has presented his new spring-summer 2016 collection at MBFWM, a marine-inspired collection entitled 'Un balcony al mar'. The color palette is made up of orange, red, blue, yellow, white and khaki.

Úlises Mérida, spring-summer 2016

This edition of MBFWM will also be remembered as the consecration of the designer Úlises Mérida. With 'Haiku', a collection that pays tribute to these short Japanese poems, the couturier has managed to shine on the Madrid catwalk. Like the haikus, their designs are seemingly simple at first glance, but extremely complex when you pay attention to them: oriental-inspired garments, such as kimonos or sashes, suits, tuncias and red carpet dresses.

Andrés Sardá, spring-summer 2016

The colors, motifs and patterns of the African night are the source of inspiration for the firm Andrés Sardá in its new collection 'Voyage Sauvage' ('Wild Night'). Animal print, lace, necklines, transparencies, floral and plant motifs, metallic jewels, Swarovski crystals ... a jungle proposal for swimwear and lingerie for next spring.

The designer Roberto Torretta has once again bet on the keys to his style, naturalness and elegance as the pillars of a collection designed for an urban and sophisticated woman. Three silhouettes are the protagonists: short dresses for the morning, midi cut for the afternoon and long column dresses for the evening. In addition, we have also seen on the catwalk delicate jumpsuits, elegant pants and a new reinterpretation of the tuxedo.

This inspiration is reflected in a selection of garments with a lot of movement, such as chiffon, organza, silk sheepskin, crepe or tulle dresses, which at the same time seek to enhance the feminine silhouette. The prints, with various musical motifs, act as the common thread of the proposal.
