Madrid Fashion Week

Ana Locking, trip to the Alps

In her new collection, Ana Locking takes us to the Swiss Alps, taking inspiration from its landscape and the sinuous shapes of the mountains. Light garments, in materials such as tulle or chiffon, alternate with more emphatic and rigid pieces in neoprene. This contrast of fabrics does not end here, the collection also includes sequins, transparencies or the most technological fabrics.

Ana Locking's proposal is dominated by the white, color that refers us to the snowy landscape of the Alps. The color palette is completed with red, blue, green and black.

Angel Schlesser, the African savannah

a2

If Ana Locking surprised us with her winter recreation of the Alps, designer Ángel Schlesser proposes a trip to the African savannah. The collection is a tribute to the iconic Saharan by Yves Saint Laurent and the safari style that was all the rage in the 70s. Sand colors, military green and navy blue coexist with some geometric print and 'animal print'.

Ion Fiz, holidays in the Mediterranean

a3

Ion Fiz has presented a collection full of sailor spirit and with a certain retro touch, looks inspired by the memories of the holidays of the Basque couturier himself. 'Aftersun' is a proposal with a Mediterranean flavor, in which the prints of sailor stripes and the most beach colors: white, blue, coral, sand ... The star garment is the shirt dress, which is combined with wedge sandals and colored accessories.

Ailanto, tour of the Côte d'Azur

a4

The new Ailanto collection has several sources of inspiration, all of them coming from France: the French Riviera, the work of the photographer Dora Maar and the murals of the painter Jean Cocteau. The result is a very pictorial proposal, invaded by the prints of various motifs: boats, mermaids, birds, feathers ... And the color palette, featuring dusty tones that coexist with touches of fluorine and metallics.

Roberto Torretta, elegance and femininity

a5

Roberto Torretta is always a safe bet on the Madrid Fashion Week catwalk, and he has not failed in his new collection. Elegant dresses brimming with femininity that adapt perfectly to the silhouette, in which the couturier shows off his good work with the pattern. We must highlight the games of volumes and asymmetries of the garments, as well as the mix of textures that Torrettta proposes. The color palette is dominated by subtle colors such as white, black, baby blue or pale pink.

Teresa Helbig, two sisters

a6

'Souers' ('Sisters') is Teresa Helbig's new collection, inspired by two sisters with different personalities, who live in Provence and in Paris, respectively. This duality between the bucolic style of the countryside and the Parisian chic marks what we could see on the catwalk, in which Provençal garments were alternated with the more urban pieces. All this, tinted by a color palette limited to raw tones, pink and blue.

Duyos, love of ballet

a7

Duyos' was one of the most spectacular parades that we could see in this edition of Madrid Fashion Week. The Madrid designer was celebrating his 15 years in the world of fashion, an anniversary that he celebrated in style with a parade-show starring the dancers of the National Ballet of Spain. Its spectacular choreography allowed us to enjoy a collection inspired by the landscapes of the Canary Islands, looks full of movement in which silk and crepe predominate.

Miguel Palacio, return to the origins

a8

After breaking his alliance with Hoss Intropia, designer Miguel Palacio wanted to reclaim his original style on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week catwalk, with a collection that recovers the essence of his beginnings. Just three colors, white, black and navyare enough to compose a simple and minimalist collection that is committed to 'less is more'. As the only pattern, the couturier bets on floral motifs, a justified tribute to spring.

Davidelfín, monsters on the catwalk

a9

A Davidelfín parade always becomes a media event. The designer continues to exploit this aspect and returns to pull the agenda to fill his 'front row' with television faces: Alaska, La Terremoto de Alcorcón, Bibiana Fernández, Paco León, Javier Cámara ... even a misplaced Belén Esteban, supported the Malaga couturier in his new show. Bimba Bose, of course, he led Davidelfín's parade of monsters, a succession of unstructured designs that coexist with original accessories. Geometric patterns, polka dots and Swarovski crystal inlays predominate, adorning a collection featuring white, black and blue.

Alvarno and Dalianah Arekion, L'Oréal Awards

The traditional L'Oréal Awards have highlighted Alvarno and Dalianah Arekion as 'Best Collection'Y'Best Model'of this 60th edition of the Mercedes Fashion Week Madrid.

a10

The award to Alvarno has not caught anyone by surprise. Their show was the most anticipated of this edition of Madrid Fashion Week, in which they debuted with a collection full of pictorial references and dominated by geometric games and asymmetries. Jacket suits with prints, tunic-type dresses or coats are the main pieces, in bright colors and with resounding prints.

a11

The other award went to Dalianah Arekion, the most prominent model on the Madrid catwalk. The Cantabrian mannequin, which debuted at Madrid Fashoin Week, has worked with fashion greats such as Karl Lagerfeld and Ricardo Tisci.
