Who doesn't want a good pasta dish? This recipe from macaroni with pepper pesto and bonito del norte it's perfect for a weekend like this. It is a recipe that the whole family can enjoy and to which you can add, as we have done, a touch of spice.

There are recipes that as soon as you try them you know that it will not be the last time you prepare them. This is what happened to us in Bezzia with these macaroni. The creaminess of pesto of peppers and the texture that the sautéed cherrys and toasted cashews give it, in our opinion make up a dish that is difficult to resist.

In his favor he also has this dish that it is easy to prepare. Do not be fooled by the different preparations. You will only have to fry a couple of ingredients and grind as many others to be able to serve this dish on the table. Will you dare to try it? Accompany it with a salad and you will have the food done.

Ingredients

  • 180 g. macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 12 tomatoes in halves
  • 90 g. of bonito del norte in olive oil (or tuna)
  • 1/2 ball of mozzarella in cubes
  • 12 chopped roasted cashews

For the pesto

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • A piece of chopped cayenne chilli
  • 1 garlic cloves minced
  • 5 canned piquillo peppers
  • 25 grams of roasted cashews
  • 75 g. cream cheese
  • Salt and black pepper

Step by step

  1. Start by preparing the pesto. To do this, heat the two tablespoons of oil in a pan and poach the onion and chilli for 5 minutes.
  2. Then add the garlic, mix and remove from heat.

Preparation of the pesto of peppers

  1. Grind all the pesto ingredients: the peppers, the cream cheese, the cashews and the onion sauce. Adjust the salt and pepper point, mix and reserve.
  2. Put another splash of oil in the pan and sauté the tomatoes now about 4 or 5 min.
  3. Now, add the tuna, mix well and add the pesto. Mix and reserve.

Macaroni with pepper pesto and bonito

  1. In a large pot cook the pasta in salty water subtracting two minutes from the time indicated in the manufacturer's instructions. When the time has passed, reserve a saucepan of the cooking broth and drain the pasta.
  2. Then mix the pasta and cooking water ladle with tuna and pesto.
  3. Lastly, add the mozzarella and cashews and cook two minutes.
  4. Serve the macaroni with pepper pesto and bonito hot, accompanied if you like by an extra cheese.
