London Fashion Week: a summary of the new trends

London Fashion Week

After New York the world of fashion moved to London. The city welcomes since February 14 the London Fashion Week. A fashion week that ends today after the celebration of a hundred presentations and fashion shows to which in Bezzia We have been very attentive.

London has hosted for the last five days the Bora Aksu, Eudon Chai, Victoria Beckham, Margaret Hasen, Burberry and JW Anderson shows, among many other firms. Everyone has contributed something different to the catwalk, but not all of them have been equally interesting to us. We share the best with you.

London Fashion Week se opened on February 14, although it was not until a day later when the great parades began. Jamie Wei Huang, Bora Aksu, Matty Bovan and Marta Jakubowski were some of the shows that we enjoyed the most on the first day.

The elongated silhouettes and contemporaries of Jamie Wei Huang with the paintings as protagonists they powerfully attracted our attention. Nor did the romantic dresses by Turkish designer Bora Aksu go unnoticed, the minimalist aesthetic of the tailored suits by Marta Jakubowski, nor the mastery with the point of Matty Bovan.

During the second day, variety was the keynote at London Fashion Week. On the catwalk we could see from the minimalist proposals of Jasper Conrad to the colorful display of feathers by Mary Katrantzou. The two-color suits of Eudon Choi and Ports 1961, although it was the latter's blue coat that stole our hearts.

More carefree were the proposals from TOGA and House of Holland. Of the latter we liked the outfits that combined the quilted fabric with the knit, ideal for winter, don't you think? Regarding the Simone Rocha dresses, Impossible not to be stunned looking at them! Our favorites, without a doubt, the one in the lower image in red.

During the morning of the third day, we were able to see two of the most interesting parades on the London catwalk, those of Victoria Beckham and Margaret Howell. The first opted for a feminine and sophisticated image in a workie key with the Prince of Wales print as the common thread. The second, for a more relaxed collection made up of clean tailoring pieces whose silhouettes united men and women.

El burberry show It was one of the most anticipated parades of the day and it did not disappoint. He showed two lines on the catwalk: a younger and more casual in which the fur coats stood out and a more classic one in which the skin played an important role. We also really liked Peter Piloto's proposals in satin fabrics for both day and night.

During the fourth day, Erdem's was one of the most anticipated shows. And it didn't disappoint thanks to its eye-catching prints, generous volumes, and exquisite workmanship. However, this was not the collection that most captivated us. The vivid colors and extraordinary silhouettes by Roksanda they still ooze in our heads.

Other important parades yesterday it was Richard Malone, Chayalan, JW Anderson, Christopher Kane, Emilia Wickstead and David Koma. If we had to highlight anything from these shows, it would be Chayalan's wide shoulder jackets and asymmetrical dresses, JW Anderson's loose, architectural silhouettes, and Emilia Wickstead's understated and elegant jumpsuits.

The London Fashion Week thus differs from other international events. It is daring both for the color and for the volumes, excessive and extravagant at times, of some of the proposals that are presented on the catwalk. But isn't that what is expected of a runway like the one in London?

Without time to breathe between one appointment and another, our eyes are already on Paris. Will you continue with us the details of this new date with fashion?
