It is not a matter of throwing them into the washing machine without care as some fabrics can deteriorate with the blows of the washing machine. If the fabric is suitable for this appliance you can wash them in it although always choose a short program with a gentle spin in addition to using cold water.
Now, if you don't want to do the test, you can clean them manually, shaking the soles to remove excess dirt and then pass a soft bristle brush all over the shoe. In this way, you will remove the dust and perform a superficial cleaning.
Once this layer is removed, make a mixture of water, mild soap and baking soda to then apply it on the footwear helping you with the brush. Use circular motions without pressing too hard, especially in areas with the most spots.
When they're clean wipe the shoe with a damp cloth in order to remove the remains of soap.
