Split air conditioners are the most frequent in homes, they are those that are placed on the upper part of the wall and even on the outside of the facade. In this case, filters are located on the top or front and its withdrawal is very simple. You just have to open the protective plastic screen and take out the filters. To clean them, put them in warm water and rub gently with your hands.
If they are too dirty, you can use a soft nail brush to help you. But it should be with very gentle movements, do not use a bristle brush because the fabric could be easily damaged. Nor should you use a very abrasive product, just warm water. By the end, let the filters air dry completely and put it back in place.
Ducted air conditioning, where are the filters?
It is a type of centralized air conditioning device, in which the installation of the device that produces the air is carried out and is distributed through various ducts that are installed in the false ceiling of the houses. Removing the filters in this case is somewhat more complex. To do it, you must remove a part of the ceiling in an area close to where the unit is installed of cold.
The filters are located at the back of the device, once outside, you can clean them in the same way as in the case of Split filters. However, in this cooling system sometimes filters made of a non-nylon fabric are used, so it is not washable. Make sure before cleaning, since in this case, you will have to discard them and place new filters.
As for the tubes that distribute and provide the air in ducted air conditioners, contrary to what you might think they need to be cleaned very rarely. These tubes are made of a double layer of aluminum, one placed on the inside and one on the outside. Which prevents them from getting dirty easily.
