Energy thieves according to the Dalai Lama

A few days ago, in another article on psychology, I was talking about those people we have to "remove" from our lives, to the toxic people that surrounds us day by day. If you have not read it yet, you can do so here. And why did I come to mention that other article? Because it is closely linked to the one I offer you today: energy thieves according to the Dalai Lama.

To believe in this, or rather, to know that everything we tell you below is true, you don't have to be a Buddhist, you just have to wonder if such things have ever happened to us. If the answer is yes to all or most of them, then you have these "energy thieves" very close to you. Remove them from your life if you can, and if not, keep your distance with them if you do not want your health and mood to worsen day by day.

What does the Dalai Lama tell us?

This is what the Dalai Lama said in an interview with him. Point by point:

  • «Let go of people who only come to share complaints, problems, disastrous stories, fear and judgment of others. If someone is looking for a can to throw their garbage, try not to be in your mind.
  • "Pay your bills on time. At the same time, he charges who owes you or chooses to let him go, if it is already impossible to charge him ».
  • If you have not complied, ask yourself why you have resistance. You always have the right to change your mind, to apologize, to compensate, to renegotiate and to offer another alternative to an unfulfilled promise; although not as usual. The easiest way to avoid not complying with something you don't want to do is to say NO from the beginning.
  • "Eliminate as much as possible and delegate those tasks that you do not prefer to do and spend your time doing the ones that you do enjoy."
  • "Give yourself permission to rest if you are in a moment of need and give yourself permission to act if you are in a moment of opportunity."
  • "Pull, lift and organize, nothing takes more energy than a messy space full of things from the past that you no longer need."
  • “Give priority to your health, without your body's machinery working at its best, you can't do much. Take some breaks.
  • “Face the toxic situations you are tolerating, from rescuing a friend or family member, to tolerating negative actions from a partner or group; take the necessary action.
  • "You accept. It is not resignation, but nothing makes you lose more energy than to resist and fight against a situation that you cannot change.
  • "Sorry, let go of a situation that is causing you pain, you can always choose to let go of the pain of the memory."

We know that it seems easy at first glance, but it is not ... However, where is the satisfaction of complying with it?
