The person in charge of opening the Gaudí Novias catwalk has been Rosa Clara, a benchmark firm in Spanish bridal fashion, which was celebrating its twentieth anniversary with a very special collection inspired by the divas of various times. Top Clara Alonso and Lara Leito, girlfriend of actor Adrien Brody, have been in charge of leading the parade. The collection is characterized by the straight and sober lines, in an architectural style, that characterize Rosa Clará's designs, but full of details and textures. Merche Segarra's collection for the Jesús Peiró firm has been one of the most exotic proposals that we have seen in this edition of Gaudí Novias. 'Nanda Devi', which is the title of the collection, refers to one of the highest mountains in India, the natural border with Nepal, which has inspired the designer to dress real snow princesses. Peiró's brides for 2016 are covered in frosted crystals, finishes with 'wet' effects or feathers. Rich in details, the collection pays a lot of attention to accessories, such as jewel headbands or necklaces, and opts for plain fabrics, such as crepe, brocades, silk or Chantilly lace.

Michael Suay

The designer Miquel Suay has presented his new collection, entitled 'Epiphany', in which I play with the concept that "garments can be transformed." With this starting point, Suay imagines a sophisticated bride, who is not afraid to take risks with asymmetrical cuts, necklines or 'trompe l'oeils' with detachable sleeves and skirts or overlapping games. The designer also takes risks with fabrics, introducing innovative materials to the collection such as satin with crepe drape and organza with transparency.

YolanCris

The firm of the sisters Yolanda and Cristina Pérez, Yolancris, has celebrated its tenth anniversary in the world of bridal fashion at Barcelona Bridal Week. For this anniversary, they have prepared a parade with a lot of festive spirit, in which they continue to bet on the essence of artisan work, a pure 'couture' trend for a classic bride. Flowers are the main protagonists of Yolancris's new proposal, entitled 'Orchid', either in the form of delicate embroidery or as a colorful bouquet adorning the neckline. The fabrics chosen are tulle, Chantilly lace, organza, cotton guipure or crochet.

Isabel zapardiez

The heroines of Isabel Zapardiez have been the protagonists of one of the great collections that have passed through Barcelona Bridal Week this year. Surprising combinations, risky lines, outerwear inspired by the men's wardrobe, vintage pieces, asymmetrical cuts and even flower prints are some of the elements of this collection. The designer opts for fabrics such as tulle, lace, mikados, silk gauze, museinas or the daring 'triple drap'. similar to nappa. In a wedding runway dominated almost entirely by the classic white, Zapardiez introduces some touches of yellow in her proposal, symbol of the "glow of dawn and the light of dreams" that the designer wanted to convey.

Irina Shayk has been the absolute protagonist of the Pronovias parade. After airing her romance with actor Bradley Cooper, all eyes were on the Russian model, who was in charge of opening and closing the show with two of the most sensual designs in the collection. 'Once upon a time'It was the debut of its new creative director, Herve Moreau, which was inspired by traditional fairy tales to shape a highly varied collection that accommodates all types of silhouette, cuts and materials. Transparencies, lace, rhinestones, or embroidery, which are delicately inserted as if they were tattooed on the skin, are the hallmarks of the collection. As for the materials, fabrics such as crepe, piqué, silk organza, lace, mikado, chantilly or lace stand out.
