El climate change is a problem that affects everyone and each one of us, no matter where we live. This problem produces changes throughout the world that for many are barely perceptible and that for others are real catastrophes. Be that as it may, there are places where this climate change seems to affect it much more dramatically.
Not everyone is aware of irreversible changes and problems that climate change can lead to, especially if we live in one of those countries where this change is not very noticeable. But there are places where the changes have been much greater.
Siberia
Siberia is one of the coldest areas on the planet and therefore is being directly affected by global warming. But in addition to the fact that the permafrost is retreating, this has brought other problems. Apparently there methane and dioxide bubbles under this layer that are slowly released into the air, affecting the population. Years ago, anthrax spores that must have been frozen in some animal also appeared, producing an epidemic that would not have occurred if the weather conditions were constant.
Arctic Circle
There is no doubt that one of the most affected is the Arctic. The glaciers are disappearing at a very accelerated rate compared to other years, something that is alarming and that to this day we have not been able to stop. This too Has caused the sea level to rise, that animals migrate and populations disappear. This effect also alters ocean currents, causing different meteorological phenomena that directly affect countries.
Amazon
La Amazonia sees its state in danger if we do not reduce gas emissions and global warming on the planet is reduced. The exploitation of resources is also a problem and all this entails the disappearance of the great green lung of the planet, with hundreds of species and vegetation that are in danger of extinction. It is another of the great challenges that human beings face that we have not stopped causing problems for the planet in recent years.
Bangladesh
We know that the countries most affected by these changes are usually those with a large population and few resources. Bangladesh is densely populated and it is located in the Ganges delta. That is why it is a place that is affected on numerous occasions by floods from monsoons and cyclones. These meteorological phenomena cause the water level to rise and constantly cause floods that further impoverish the population.
Oceania
The changes in the islands and archipelagos are much more noticeable than in the continents. In Oceania there are examples of places that have suffered numerous problems, with periods of droughts or floods that ruin crops and have made life in these places especially vulnerable to changes in the weather and extreme climate. Places like the Maldives, Fiji or Samoa face great challenges in the coming decades if nothing is done to prevent or delay climate change.
Haiti
This island is an example of how the extreme climates that are appearing can lead to the total ruin of populations that are in vulnerable and precarious situations such as Haiti. Hurricane Matthew caused hundreds of deaths and the devastation in both rural and urban areas, international aid being necessary to be able to move forward. This and other islands will have to deal with climates and problems like these frequently in the coming years.
