Reusable plastic bottles

When choosing a reusable plastic bottle it is important to check that it is BPA free. Why? Bisphenol A or BPA is a chemical compound used to synthesize polycarbonate and resins, classified as an endocrine disruptor and can affect the reproductive health of both men and women.

Plastic bottle

BPA-free plastic bottles have both advantages and disadvantages. Among the advantages are its price and its lightness. Among the disadvantages the Bad taste that they can give to the water and that they are difficult to recycle. In addition, it is important to assess its durability; plastic bottles age poorly.

Taking into account the above characteristics, we cannot say that reusable plastic bottles are among our favorites. However, we understand that they are practical for parents with Small children for being made shockproof.

Reusable glass bottles

Glass is a material that does not react in contact with food. Water in a glass bottle does not taste bad,  it tastes like water, a big plus. Furthermore the glass is recyclable, easy to clean and it has a long shelf life (as long as it doesn't break).

Glass bottles

Its fragility it is precisely its greatest disadvantage. Currently we are working on more resistant materials, but until these arrive we can solve this problem by incorporating a silicone cover to cushion the blows in certain situations. Another disadvantage of this material has to do with its weight; a 500ml reusable glass bottle. it weighs on average about 500gr (without water), very heavy to carry in your bag.

Reusable glass bottles are a great choice for both serving water and drinks at home or in the office, but not so much when they must be transported unless a small volume is enough.

Reusable stainless steel bottles

The main advantage of bottles made of stainless steel is that they keep the hot or cold liquids much longer than plastic or glass bottles. They also do not contain BPA nor do they transmit any type of smell or taste to beverages. In addition, they are resistant, easy to clean, very light and have a very long useful life.

Bottles made with this material are especially interesting for those who need their drink to be kept at a suitable temperature for many hours and / or who are looking for a light bottle: athletes, outdoor workers ... or anyone who wants to enjoy a day in the mountains or at the beach.

Stainless steel bottles

There are other alternatives: aluminum bottles, folding silicone bottles ... however, the aforementioned ones have seemed the most interesting, either because of their "technical" characteristics or their practicality. Which one is the best? We believe that there is no single option good and then we explain why.

Beyond the environmental impact of each material or the greater or lesser convenience of each of them in terms of smell, taste and durability, it is inevitable to take other factors into account. We are talking mainly about the functionality and comfort of each one of them to adapt it to different circumstances of our daily routine.

Because it is useless to buy a reusable bottle if we park it in a corner and we continue to resort to single-use bottles because they are not practical, don't you think? Do you use this type of bottle at home or at work?
