Chicken with almonds

Chicken with almonds

If you've eaten at a Chinese restaurant, you've probably tried the Chicken with almonds. We do not promise that this is the same as that one, but it does allow us to enjoy in a simple and different than usual of this ingredient.

This chicken with almonds is simple to prepare. You will have, yes, to remember in advance marinate the chicken so that it takes all the flavor of the soy sauce and ginger. An hour is enough, but you don't have to be able to watch the clock. If there are two, nothing will happen either.

In addition to almonds to this dish we have incorporated onion and carrot. You can cut the slices of this more or less thin, depending on where you like to eat them. If you like them very soft, cut them thin; if, on the contrary, you like them al dente, cut them thicker. Do you dare to try it?

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken breast, diced
  • 40 ml soy sauce⁣
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 20 peeled almonds
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 150 ml chicken broth
  • 1-2 teaspoons of cornstarch

Step by step

  1.  Place the chicken cubes, soy sauce, ground ginger and brown sugar in a bowl. Mix well and let it rest in the fridge for a minimum of one hour so that the chicken takes on flavor.
  2. When almost the time has passed, heat the oil in a frying pan and sauté the almonds over medium-high heat until golden brown. Withdraw and reserve.
  3. In the same pan now sauté the onion and carrot for 5 minutes.

  1. Meanwhile, separate some of the chicken broth in a cup and dissolve in it the cornstarch.
  2. After five minutes, return the almonds to the pan and incorporate the chicken with the marinade and the chicken broth, including the broth in which you have dissolved the Cornstarch.
  3. Mix and cook the whole for 15 minutes over medium-low heat so the chicken cooks and the sauce thickens. In Bezzia We have cooked it covered half of the time before uncovering it.
  4. Sauce not thickened enough? Keep in mind that tempering will make you fat. If it still seems thin to you, add more cornstarch. If, on the other hand, you have become very fat, add water or broth.
  5. Serve the chicken with almonds warm
