The play is loosely inspired by Carl Theodor Dreyer's film Ordet (1955), which in turn adapted Kaj Munk's play The Word, and addresses the relationship between will, faith and belief. revolves around a family of brothers in which John, the youngest son, claims to be Jesus Christ who has returned to earth. His strange behavior complicates the coexistence with the family, which he considers that he has gone crazy, until Paz, one of his sisters, begins to believe in his speech of faith. It will be then that Juan performs a miracle that will cast doubt on all the things they believed in before.

The season in the main hall of the Spanish Theater kicked off on September 15 with the premiere of Queen Lear, an original text written by Juan Carlos Rubio, inspired by Shakespeare's play and directed by Natalia Menéndez, which invites us to reflect on the exercise of power and human cruelty around the figure of a queen brought to life by Mona Martínez.
What differentiates a king from a queen? Why use the past to deal with complacency and pride? Does the exercise of power from the patriarchy model lead to violence or does it seek peace? Is there perhaps a hidden will to talk about an education that is still valid or is it that training has nothing to do with power? Perhaps reality has more to do with fragments than with scenic continuity or is it that our desire leads us to put the magnifying glass where it hurts or where to find the light?
