The best premiere series in April 2024

This Month numerous interesting premieres arrive on the platforms which is worth reviewing. And there is so much to choose from that we have been forced to make a small selection with what we consider to be the best series premiering in April 2024. Those that, either because of what they tell, because of who tells it or because of how they have been launched, we believe that They will be successful on their respective platforms. We tell you about all of them and we offer you their trailer, in most cases, in English.

One of the premieres that I personally am looking forward to and that premieres on Netflix today is Ripley. An adaptation of the series of novels by Patricia Highsmith about Tom Ripley, which if you haven't read yet, I advise you to read.

The first season of 8 episodes adapts the novel "The Talented Mr. Ripley." This takes us to the 60s, when a con man named Tom Ripley is hired by a millionaire to contact his hedonistic son in Italy, beginning a long career of deception, fraud and murder.

Andrew Scott, Johnny Flynn, Dakota Fanning and Pasquale Esposito, among others, star in this series. Series that in the memory of many will have to compete with the 90s film starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law.

On April 12, the French film Ourika will premiere on Amazon Prime Spain. A series of 7 episodes directed by Clément Godart and Elie Yaffa that takes us to the Paris riots of 2005. And it includes among its cast Adam Bessa, Salim Kechiouche, Noham Edje, Booba, Max Gomis, Slimane Dazi and Sawsan Abès.

In a Paris suburb ravaged by riots, the Jebli family, at the head of a cannabis trafficking network, sees his empire crumble after a major police operation. Driss, the youngest member of the family, is forced to take the reins of the criminal enterprise, abandoning his ambitions for a career in finance. His adversary, William, a young and ambitious police officer, is determined to take him down. This confrontation will turn their lives and those around them upside down.

Starring Massagué, this 8-episode Spanish series can be seen on Amazon Prime Spain starting April 19. In it Haro (Massagué) is a refined and Machiavellian aristocrat serving time for rape and murder, and who is threatened with death by a kidnapper who acts against the business elite. Taking advantage of that connection, Haro negotiates prison benefits in exchange for collaborating in the investigation of the kidnappings. Although in reality, what he does is prepare his revenge against the judge who imprisoned him.

The dead detectives

Dead Detectives will arrive on Netflix as part of The Sandman universe on April 25. The series follows the Dead Boy Detectives, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, who decided not to enter the afterlife to remain on earth and investigate. crimes related to the supernatural.

The first season of the series created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner and starring George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri and Kassius Nelson will have eight episodes. And something tells us that she will become one of the favorites of the youngest.

Davos 1917

Our list of the best series premiering in April 2024 is closed by Davos 1915, a series that we will have to wait until the last day of April to see on Filmin. Directed by Anca Miruna Lazarescu, it is an intimate Swiss series that takes place during the First World War.

Thus Davos 1917 takes us to the First World War, when a young nurse from Davos is recruited by a female master in a high-stakes power game that decides war or peace. David Kross, Sunnyi Melles and Jeanette Hain give life to the protagonists.
